Pink Triangle in the Sky

Saturday night we were treated to a beautiful Sunset!  I clicked away to my heart's content--almost 200 photos!  Then I saw the Triangle in the sky.  And it's pink.  I couldn't believe my eyes!  Isn't that just the strangest thing?

Here's a closeup of the triangle cloud.  I have never seen anything quite like this before!  And it's pink!

Strawberry Pink

What a rare find--pink summertime strawberry blossoms!  I have never seen such pink blooms before--I'm looking forward to a bite of late summer berries!

She Held the Moon

She Held the Moon in tender hands.  That is the phrase which filled my mind when I just happened to glance out the window this morning.  Of course I ran for my camera.  Then in a moment it was gone.

There is something so beautiful about the way this tree leans to softly cup the moon in leafy boughs.

Heart in Stone - Guest Heart Thursday

The last time I walked along the Pacific Ocean was last Spring--I found so many hearts in the sand, waters and rocks.  This is another of my favorites.  Perfect for Guest Heart Thursday!

Cuddle Her Comfy

This tiny cat seems delightfully comfortable.  She looks like any adorable kitty should.  But this is no ordinary kitten.

From the day she was born, she battled for her life--birth defects kept her from growing as fast as her siblings.  Yet this pint-sized fur ball fought for her life and still continues to thrive. Nothing keeps her down.

She inspires me, this little bit of creation, gazing up at me with such love and admiration.  It is my privilege to cuddle her comfy.

NOTE:  I just noticed this darling kitten is sitting in the shape of a HEART!  Thought I'd add it in for this week's Guest Heart Thursday!

Dad's Lily

I was visiting my parents a few days ago, and caught sight of this beautiful pink lily in Dad's pond.  I have yet to see one lily bloom in my pond this year--so to see this one was a real treat!

DADDY UPDATE:  Dad's left side is still weak from an episode (they really don't know what happened) last Sunday.  He still is weak, but has graduated from using a walker, barely getting around, to using a cane.  I am so grateful to see him up and about.  Please pray for his continued recovery.

Summer Sunset - Guest Heart Thursday

Night before last the sunset was extraordinary!  The pinks and purples against those dark leaves was beautiful.  And then I spotted the purple heart--can  you find it?  I thought this to be the perfect Summer Sunset heart for Guest Heart Thursday!

Cyclops! Eeeek!

Do you ever wonder if trees walk?  Well, I caught this giant Cyclops tree pacing along the sidewalk a block down from our house. It was early morning and I wasn't surprised to see him.

Shadow of Rainbow - Shadow Shot Sunday

Ever wondered what the shadow of a rainbow might look like?  Sitting on a cot outside near my parents home, I caught the shadow of a rainbow--and it was unlike anything I've ever seen.

Gravel Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

Walking in the park I chanced upon this perfectly formed heart in the crushed gravel.  This heart has survived a crushing blow--and remains strong and sweet.  Ah, such is true love--it will survive.

Sullen Sun - Weekend Reflections

Last week as I awakened, I knew something wasn't quite right.  I sat on the edge of the bed to glance outside.  I gasped at the peculiar red color of the Sullen Sun.  This photo actually doesn't do justice to how red the sun actually was.  My camera would not pick up the blood red color of the sun itself--but the reflections you see spattered here, are very close.

Oddly enough, even the sunlight itself was red.  I caught the vibrant color of it spilling down the stairs.  I've never seen anything like it.

At first I thought the sun was red because farmers here have been field burning.  However, on the news it was said the red color blurring the sunlight is because of a huge fire in Russia.  Incredibly, the smoke is being carried by the jet stream up over the North Pole.  The truth is, we are all tied together more closely than we could ever imagine.

Heart in Sand - Guest Heart Thursday

When Clytie started seeing hearts, my eyes could not find them.  I think there's something magical going on here--walking along the beach, the waters pulled away from my feet--I looked down and  noticed this heart in the sand.   Maybe I saw this heart because Sissy loves the ocean so much.

This heart is for YOU, Sissy!

Beneath Huckleberry Bridge

Sissy and I went for another walk through the Forests of our childhood--this time we ended up in Deer Valley.

We leaned against the silent cedar trees.  Listened to the old hawk call in the air over our heads.  We ate huckleberries from a gigantic plant which I'm sure was the one from which we gathered berries as children.  Then Clytie and I hiked down the side of the canyon to Huckleberry Bridge and the old mud flats.  The mud flats are gone now, but Huckleberry Bridge still spans the stream.

As you see, there was magic in the air as the sun caught another world in the reflections beneath Huckleberry Bridge.  If I looked closer I am sure I would have heard the shouts of children playing--peals of laughter from long ago.

Tree on River Waters - Weekend Reflections

The river has so many moods--one never finds the same vision twice.  On this day I found a pool of water eddying at the river's edge.  The waters were so still I caught this Tree on River Waters.
