Day Lily Fae - Guest Heart Thursday

I did a photoshoot recently--this picture was my favorite.  My camera caught something magical here.  The camera loves some people--this young lady is one of those rare individuals.  There are quite a few hearts in this photo--can you find them?

Here Comes the Sun

I was helping a friend move on Thursday, when the clouds began to fluff and stretch in a spectacular show of beauty.  There was a storm moving in from the coast.   As always the clouds heralding such a storm were incredible.

I was in awe at the breathtaking display.

Subtle Sun

Making coffee in our tiled kitchen, I noticed a creamy feel to the pale sunshine falling through the windows.  Suitably intrigued, I gasped when I noted the Subtle Sun sketched against the sky.  God's lovely watercolor.  My first attempt to catch the gentle sense of our star was a bit shaky

My second attempt was a little better.  The perfect shape of the sun, smudged with thin morning clouds, filled my eyes to the brim.

Though I normally strive to keep anything man made out of my photos, these power lines don't look too bad.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Summer Roses

I went for a walk this morning and came across the most amazing rose bush--at the end of each stem were nosegays of  orange, pink, yellow and red roses growing all together.  What a beautiful sight!

One could make an entire bouquet by clipping one single stem!

I especially loved the the yellowish orange roses sprinkled throughout each rosy grouping.

Woody's Babies

Yesterday Sissie and I took a walk through The Abandoned.   Sissy was so excited about a woodpecker next she'd noticed.  She'd heard the babies calling and wanted to show it to me.  It looked like someone had drilled a perfectly round hole in the side of the aging tree trunk.

Out popped Ralphie the Redhead.  What a pretty little fellow.

Someone was listening!  It was Papa Woody Woodpecker bearing a beak full of food.

That's one big fat green worm.

Ralphie made short work of it.  Dad flew away...

Oop!  Here's Ralphie again!  He's calling for Mom...

 Good Food Mom!

And she's off!  A Mother's work is never done!

Her Spattered Jeans - Guest Heart Thursday

What fun to spend a sunny afternoon in the yard with a young person, capturing pictures of faeries in the rhodies while the paint spatters on her cutoffs dried.  I wasn't in the least surprised to see a heart there.  I'm sure the faeries had something to do with it--at least that's why my friend and I think.  (grin)

Fragrant Rose Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

What a pleasure to see the sun and that incredible blue sky.  These old roses filled the warmth of the air with a lovely perfume.  Of course, this little heart rose is just perfect for Guest Heart Thursday!

Have a lovely day everyone!

Tulip Tree in a Snow Storm - Pink Saturday

This picture was taken in early April when we had an unexpected snow storm.  I love tulip trees and have never seen their blooms in the snow before!
