Metalic Heart Swirl -Guest Heart Thursday

My friend and I went browsing through an art gallery at the beach.  This piece is one of several by a local artist in Lincoln City.  He and his sons were exhibiting some unusual pieces.

When I saw the heart bubbles, I had to take a picture for Guest Heart Thursday!  Have a lovely day, everyone.

Ocean Hearts for Sissy -Guest Heart Thursday

Because my sister Clytie loves the beach so much, when I go to the ocean, I always ask the Mighty Creator to send a special heart for Sissy.

This astonishing photo is the answer to that prayer.  The first heart I noticed was the spray heart on the right, but as I was leveling the photograph, I saw a small pink heart to the left, and another ocean foam heart between the two.  There is another tiny heart tucked into the crashing waves.

Just for you, my sweet, most marvelous, wonderful SissyBoo.  Below is the original picture, before I cropped and leveled it.

I Believe in Faeries

This is the enchanted wood where Sissy and I stopped on our way back from the beach last September.

I was only recently going through those photographs, when I noticed there is what looks like a faery in this picture.  I have not done anything with this photograph, other than to crop it, copyright it, and level the colors.  I had uploaded it to facebook before I realized there's a real faery in the photo!!!

Can you see her?  Wings and all, to the left of the sun sparkle, in front of the smaller tree.  This is a stand of old growth trees--so the tree behind the faery is over a foot thick--the child of the humongous trees further back.  So, to put it into perspective, that faery was at least five inches from head to toe.  Why I didn't notice it until after I looked at the photos is anyone's guess!

I took Mumsie there last week on our way home from the Coast--no faeries this time, but the magic of that place steeps the air with mystery.

I hope to visit there often.  I would like to explore a little further.  Want to come, Sissy?

Oregon Sunset

We were so grateful for the sunshine at the beach last week.  Our second evening, my husband and I went for a walk at sunset.  I was amazed at the pinkness of the light dappling the tall gangled cedar trees.

The sunlight shone in pastel loveliness over the waves to peak through the wind-blown branches.

The waves were spectacular as they pounded the sands.

I marveled at the pink color of the ocean spray, as the waves tumbled toward shore.

But most of all, I was thankful to be walking there hand in hand with my Beloved.

What an unexpectedly beautiful day.

Unexpected Sunshine

This is a picture I took late last Fall in the early hours of day.  This morning the sunrise had the same golden rays beaming through my window.

What a lovely way to begin the New Year--with Sunshine!  We haven't seen much of it here.  It is the fourth rainiest winter of all time, in Oregon.

Even we who were born here and are used to the rain, are getting a bit tired of the gray, stormy, drippy, dark days.

Perhaps the fact the sun rose in all its glory this morning, is a sign this coming year will be filled with unexpectedly wonderful things.

Happy New Year everyone!
