Unexpected Bounty

In late summer, when warmth still tinged the air, Clytie and I found this unexpected bevy of fragrant blackberries festooning a prickly pine tree.

I can taste those warm, sweet berries yet. And as always I yearn for summertime.

Daddy Update: Great news! Dad has formally been discharged from the wound specialist. The top of his head is completely healed. He has also been fitted for a more comfortable neck collar to support his still-broken neck.

However, Dad is still having flashbacks to his time in the prison camp--they are even more vivid than before. Yesterday Dad went to the VA Hospital for some tests to find out why. I would appreciate your continued prayers for the healing of Dad's neck and the cessation of those flashbacks. Mom would appreciate your prayers, too. This is all very hard for her.

Gosh. I am doing my best to get some blackberries to grow here and the plants have increased but so far the animals get most of the berries, and some before they are really ripe.

You guys are lucky to have them growing around here you are and you can get them.

Blackberries I'm so jealous I love berries black, blue, red, purple...yummy.
They cost me a fortune down here but they are worth every penny!
I love the picture with the vine growing up in the tree, I didn't know they did that. Good job!

Sending strong thoughts your dad's way,... and a special "thank you" to him too for his time served. May those flash-backs cease!

I can't wait until the next batch gets ripe at the end of next summer. We only got a few picked this year, even though the supply was endless.

Oh they do look good enough to eat!! We had wild ones growing up on the hill when we were kids. We'd go running up to see how many we could pick and eat before supper! (smiles) what fun and how delicious they are. I'm glad you found them and could gobble them up! Healing Prayers go up for your father and your mom too. May God Grant them His Healing Powers and Grace and may God Bless you and all of your family, always. Love and Light, Nina P
