Nutty Squirrel

Here is our little friend who unexpectedly dropped to watch as I stacked firewood out back. I was able to click this picture of him before he scampered up the tree, humongous nut in mouth. He didn't seem to be very afraid and watched for the longest time. Interactive squirrel TV? I wonder.

As you can see he is eating his breakfast--a black walnut from our dastardly walnut tree in the back yard. I say dastardly--only in the fall, when I must take care of all those leaves which must be raked and disposed of--otherwise the grass will not grow. (Grin)

He is a little blurry, but I liked his pose and fearlessness. He was really enjoying that nut.

He is cute! I was just watching one of his cousins on my back porch. He was trying to figure out how to get seeds out of my bird feeder. I'm not sure why since my oak trees have been very prolific with the acorns this year!

What a cutie! I also saw one of his cousins yesterday. He was frantically trying to cross the road, and nearly caused a 3-car pile-up. He ended up on the other side, safe to live another day.

Cute little fellow. Abe is always snapping photos of squirrels, birds, raccoons and what ever happens into our backyard. Which is rather hard for some animals, since we have a privacy (wooden) fence around it. But if they have claws they can make it. I keep telling him he feeds them way too much, they come and set on the window sill and also at the sliding door, leaning and looking in the windows if they want more. It is rather cute to see them leaning on the patio door looking in. Our daughters cat loves it, sometimes when warm enough to have window open and screen closed, they will almost have their noses touching.

don't you wonder what he was thinking? :)

Thank goodness squirrels don't do TV or computers (or international banking). We're in enough of a mess as it is, don't you think, Beth?

To cute! I love watching these furry little fellows. They chatter up a storm in our walnut tree... and if you're not careful, they will toss nuts at you if you get too close. They also love to torment the dogs. (smiles) I'm sure this little guy had a ball watching you all work. Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina P
