Heart on a Leaf

I have known her since we were in our early 20's. She is an exquisite woman, with a wonderful flare for clothing and design. She is also a gifted artist, who works with paper, paint, the sun and plants to create some of the most amazing natural artwork I've ever seen.
.
She came for a visit yesterday bearing gifts for me and the girls. What a delight. Then with a pause and a twinkle she said, "I have something special for you, Beth." From the folds of a slim book thrust into her chic purse, she withdrew a leaf and placed it carefully into my hands.
.
I gasped. She smiled. "When I found this leaf," she said in her lovely silvery voice. "I knew it was for you."
.
A gift so beautifully fragile---so genuinely surprising and unexpectedly perfect, I was touched with awe.

Sissy's Hands

Last Monday morning, Clytie and I went for a long tromp through the moss-draped forest. She probably didn't know I was taking this photo. (grin) Here the Artist focuses her camera on an unusual heart.
You can see this wonderful Artist's total concentration as she captures what she sees--gorgeous work, which fills my eyes.

Of One Heart

Here is the photo I was clicking, when my darling sister Clytie http://clytie-randomstuff.blogspot.com/2009/03/artist-well-in-hand.html took a photo of the artist (me) clicking the shutter.

Sissy and I are kindred spirits. We have one heart when it comes to photography (and a lot of other stuff, too). We are members of a mutual admiration society. Please visit both of her websites. Clytie is a natural born photographer who's work is instinctively gorgeous, often with interesting perspectives. Coupled with her strange and wonderful sense of humor--I look forward to perusing her blogspot each and every day.
