Bits of Rainbows -SkyWatch Friday

This is a picture I took of a cloud angel in the skies last Saturday evening.  What a lovely lovely display.  It wasn't until I got home and looked closely at the photo, that I noticed some cloudy rainbows.

Rainbow Opals in the Skies

Last week I was in my garden, checking to see what needed to be done before Spring really gets into swing, when I noticed the sun's light seemed different.  I glanced up to see some lovely colors reflecting into the clouds.  Of course, I took a picture.  The sun is much more sparkly from the camera's eye, but the rainbow colored clouds were the same.

Above you see a closeup of those vibrant colors--a sky opal to be sure!

Shimmering Rainbow - Skywatch Friday

Last week's hot air balloon ride was a lifetime dream come true.  The balloon had landed in a field on a hillside.  They were getting ready to pack the balloon, when I looked up to see this amazing rainbow cloud.  There was no rain--only the sunshine and a thin embossing of cloud.  And the rainbow--it seemed to shimmer.  A perfect ending to an incredibly magical morning.
