I love the wheels on my 1980 Lincoln Versailles, which was given to me by my Papa Dave. No one wanted the car, he couldn't even sell her--so she became mine.
In 1995, it was reported there were only around 900 left in the entire world! I'm sure there are even less now. The reason for this shortage is because the rear end of the Versailles can be used in the old Ford Mustangs.
She is the oddest looking car--a long elegant front end with a short backside. She looks unbalanced. The dashboard is covered with teal blue leather, along with plush carpeting on the floors of the same color. She's white with a tiny pinstripe down the sides. She sports lights which turn on as one wheels around a corner, an eight track with am radio, lights in the keyholes, a thermometer outside the thermal heated side mirrors. That is only a short list of the many luxeries built into this amazing car.
And what a wonderful drive! Like pouring melted butter. When I drove her home for the first time, I asked "What is your name?"
She coyly lifted one crome covered shoulder and replied in that sultry big engine voice, "Kitten.'
I spoke to my husband about this, and he immediately explained he wasn't going to drive any car named kitten. He said, "She's the White Tiger."
I agreed with him, of course. A white tiger with the nickname of Kitten. (grin)

And aptly named she is. She is lucky to have someone to care for her as you do!
That's a cute story. I don't have any old cars and no old classic cars. I don't even have a model classic car. I used to. I used to buy new cars every year. I spent a lot of money and lost even more trading new cars. You name the car from 1955 to 1967 and we owned it. LOL
Of those, the 1957 Chevy was one I should have kept. Now, we keep new cars a long time. Our last new one, a Toyota, was new in 2003 when we bought it.
I would sometimes buy a new car and an old one and remodel the old one, do the valves over, fix the rust, and sell it but then we started having kids and I had to start making money.
She sounds divine!
Interesting combination of the grace of a white tiger and the drive of a wild horse. You get to ride the roads controling all that magic and power. Wow!
I love the phrase "it drives like pouring melted butter" woo-whee, baby!
I appreciate you, my cyber friend.
Many blessings for a spectacular New Year!
