Lincoln City Sunset

I captured this photo while walking with my Darling Friend Lynn, in Lincoln City, Oregon.  One can often see such amazing, stunning vistas here.

The ocean is never the same--it can be beautiful, stunning--and sometimes frightening.  The changing moods of the ocean seem to reflect life itself.

I am so grateful for this beautiful place.

Sunset's Burning -SkyWatch Friday

The smoke from the fires this summer caused the sky to burn with beautiful color.  It reminds me to pray for those who have lost their homes and even their lives.

My heart goes out to all those who have lost so much.

Keep looking up this Skywatch Friday.

Exquisite Sunset

I was visiting my best buddy's new home in Lincoln City a little over a month ago.  There was an incredibly low tide that evening, so we walked for hours along the beach--picked up wonderful agates and shells--and then came the sunset.  As you can see, it was incredibly beautiful.

Here the sun's rays were captured in a molten glow along the edges of the sea.

Such beauty.  When I see a scene like this, I am SO grateful to the creativity of our Creator.

Have a lovely week dear friends.

Cotton Candy Clouds -SkyWatch Friday

This photo doesn't do the original sky justice.  Ah, it was SO pretty--fluffy and pink, just like a huge fluff of cotton Candy!  And I do so love cotton Candy at the county fair in summertime.

Opal Sands, Golden Sun -Skywatch Friday

Sunsets along the Oregon beaches can be spectacular.  This picture was taken in January.  I loved the almost translucent, opal look of the sands, and the way the sun threw pink highlights into the waves.

The loveliness of the sun and the rays cast over the sea to land in a puddle on the beach, inexplicably touches my soul.

Have a lovely weekend.

Ocean Hearts for Sissy -Guest Heart Thursday

Because my sister Clytie loves the beach so much, when I go to the ocean, I always ask the Mighty Creator to send a special heart for Sissy.

This astonishing photo is the answer to that prayer.  The first heart I noticed was the spray heart on the right, but as I was leveling the photograph, I saw a small pink heart to the left, and another ocean foam heart between the two.  There is another tiny heart tucked into the crashing waves.

Just for you, my sweet, most marvelous, wonderful SissyBoo.  Below is the original picture, before I cropped and leveled it.

Oregon Sunset

We were so grateful for the sunshine at the beach last week.  Our second evening, my husband and I went for a walk at sunset.  I was amazed at the pinkness of the light dappling the tall gangled cedar trees.

The sunlight shone in pastel loveliness over the waves to peak through the wind-blown branches.

The waves were spectacular as they pounded the sands.

I marveled at the pink color of the ocean spray, as the waves tumbled toward shore.

But most of all, I was thankful to be walking there hand in hand with my Beloved.

What an unexpectedly beautiful day.

Heart of Fire - Guest Heart Thursday

I was just outside only a matter of minutes ago, and caught this incredibly beautiful heart of fire--it's upside down, but it is definitely a heart!  It only lasted for a moment--then it faded to a mere shadow of this colorful fire.
