Another Lovely Cloud Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

Just before all the sunshine flooded our way, the sky was filled with some amazing clouds.  I just happened to catch this heart in the clouds.  On closer examination, I found a dog howling, a bearded man and several other interesting shapes.  What do you see?

Cloud Dances

To me, this looks like a dragon stretching his head across the sky--maybe he's heading for a porthole in the clouds!  I am always amazed at the beauty to be found in the clouds.

I thought of sky dancers when I saw what I had caught in this photo--It is like one cloud is taking the hand of the other, to dance across the sky.

Have a lovely day everyone.  Keep looking up!

Heart of Fire - Guest Heart Thursday

I was just outside only a matter of minutes ago, and caught this incredibly beautiful heart of fire--it's upside down, but it is definitely a heart!  It only lasted for a moment--then it faded to a mere shadow of this colorful fire.

Thunder Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I drove to the store yesterday afternoon.  Jumped out of the car--I was in a hurry--and was stunned to see a huge boiling of clouds towering over the hills.  I gasped and grabbed my ever-present camera, as I saw this amazing two-toned heart.  A few moments later it was gone.

I am sure this was the grand heart of a Thunderstorm--a Thunder Heart.

Pink Triangle in the Sky

Saturday night we were treated to a beautiful Sunset!  I clicked away to my heart's content--almost 200 photos!  Then I saw the Triangle in the sky.  And it's pink.  I couldn't believe my eyes!  Isn't that just the strangest thing?

Here's a closeup of the triangle cloud.  I have never seen anything quite like this before!  And it's pink!

Heart of Blue Sky

This evening, on the way back home--I was just floored by the beauty of the clouds.  I had to stop to capture what I saw.  They were exquisitely, beautifully formed against that wondrous blue sky.

I thought this one was especially perfect for Sissy's Guest Heart Thursday!

Nose to Nose

A storm rolled through yesterday--I caught this cloud face nose to nose with what looks like a fat little whale.  The little fellow's tail is hidden behind the tippy top of the tree.  I know I have a great imagination, but the face seems pretty clear to me.  I have not touched this photo up in any way, other than adjusting the levels.

It is so amazing what one can see in the clouds.

Face of a Child

Last summer I caught the perfect profile of a child floating overhead. I continue to be amazed at the intricate detail of the shapes which can be found in the clouds.

Face Me

Though I see them quite often, I am still amazed at the faces I find in the clouds. What's really spooky is when the face recognition option in my camera recognizes the same faces I do! How grateful I am for this camera--for the instant capture of amazing things.

Can you see the handsome fellow with the statuesque nose?

Ah, what fun to watch the skies!

Country Skies

I caught this amazing formation over the back fence in my garden. I think it looks like a maiden holding something her hands. What do you think?

Sometimes there are moments which are so memorable one can hardly speak of them for the beauty wrought in one's soul. In late spring Alan and I were outside working on some sets--when this amazing color began to gather in the clouds.

It was the kind of sunset that thrills the soul. I've only seen one other as glorious as this. The colors seemed to hang in the skies forever...

Then there are the clouds I often find hovering over the fields near the old farm building--my favorites are those which seem to form a porthole to another realm in time or space.

I love the beauty of our Country Skies.

Circle in the Sky

I'm always caught by surprise by the perfect circles I often see in the clouds. Lately I've also found triangles, squares and rectangles in the skies--which is VERY odd indeed!

Angels Overhead

Late last summer, when Dad and Mom were still living with us while Dad recovered from his injuries, I went for an evening stroll and caught this angel cloud floating over the trees. She was beautiful and unexpected, to be sure.
.
Have a wonderful week and Merry Christmas!

What is THAT?

Eola Inn Restaurant is located along the Willamette River near Salem. The view is better than spectacular. One can often see bald eagles and golden hawks along with geese, ducks and other birds, swooping and dipping along the river. And if the view weren't attraction enough, their tasty meals are incredibly reasonable.

We were having lunch with our friend Vern, when I noticed this awesome cloud. Of course, I had my camera along and no one seemed to mind when I leaped to my feet to press my camera against the gigantic glass windows to take a picture. It must be a common occurrence? Anyhow, here you see what I saw. . .I think it might be a space ship?! What do YOU think?

Fat Cat Sunset

Tonight's sunset was beautiful. I noticed a really fat cat with wings on the lefthand side of this photo. If you'd like to see what I did with this funny fat cat, be sure to check out my art page http://bethlniquetteart.blogspot.com/2009/10/fat-cat-on-wing.html I think you'll enjoy him--I was having a very hard day today--and he flew by to make me laugh. I hope he brings a smile to YOUR face, too.

When Tree and Sky Dance

In early Spring a massive thunderstorm blew across the landscape snatching tender new blossoms from the fruit trees. The clouds were spectacular.
.
Here you see the storm's tattered cloud, about to grasp our flirtatious walnut tree by the hand, to fling her into a leaf-breaking, breathtaking whirl.

An Eskimo???

Okay, I have to ask. Is it my imagination, or is there an Eskimo waving at us from the top of this cloud?

Faces in the Cloud

Mom and I were amazed at how many faces we could see in this cloud of smoke. We even found a man holding a small lamb, or maybe a deer. When you click on the picture--the faces are more easily discovered. So...how many faces can YOU find?!

Angel Gaze

Yesterday afternoon Mom and I were on our way back from picking up her new glasses, when we stopped for a few things at the grocery store. What a surprise to see an angel cloud gazing at us over the treetops! If you look at the trees, you can see the angel must have dropped some gold pieces into the leaves!

Indigo Heart for Clytie

We were winging along the Columbia Gorge River highway behind a hearse when I spied this heart cloud floating over the river. I immediately thought of my darling Sissy Clytie and snapped the photo.

To be truthful I was amazed at how well the picture came out, considering we were following that hearse at speeds sometimes well over 75 miles per hour!

What a race! Our dear Florence (in the coffin) was most likely watching overhead, laughing herself silly over the antics of everyone in the long line of cars endeavoring to follow that speeding hearse on its way to the cemetery--through rush hour traffic no less! (gasp) I have to say--I've NEVER followed a hearse in such an allfaldaral hurry before! What an adventure! But so appropriate for our lovely Florence, who's quirky sense of humor brightened every one's lives.

Skywatch

There's no doubt about the incredible clouds filling the skies these days. I've never seen anything like them. I am sure this must be another of God's angels watching over us.

Daddy Update: Dad made a breakthrough this morning! He actually got up and made coffee this morning. He was able to go outside with his walker yesterday afternoon--he even walked a few paces with his cane. Dad is healing faster than anyone could predict. Thanks to the prayers of people everywhere, I believe we are watching a miracle unfold! Thank you! Keep praying--Dad sees the neck doctors the first of September!
