Metalic Flower

Here you see the beauty of metal. I found this delicate metalic flower on the side of an ancient steam engine. The way the light, shadow and color play through the intricate flow of traceries and patterns is fascinating. Utterly lovely, don't you think?

I have tried to imagine what it is without much luck.

I like your idea of adding pretty touches to huge machines. It was probably a bolt that required those petals if and when it needed to be removed. Either that or perhaps it is a stray martial arts weapon that stuck on the wet paint.
If I keep imagining I'll get weirder and weirder.

I want to touch it, straight away. Was it cold?
