Piles of Blue Snow

Two years ago over a foot of snow fell.  Here in the Independence "Vortex," deep snow is a rare phenomenon.  Memories of this lovely blue snowfall (in the right light, of course) are especially precious, because it was the last snowfall I shared with my Beloved.  It was such a beautiful time in our lives.  The snow actually lasted for a couple of weeks.

So far this winter, it has rained over 10 inches.  There is a flood watch currently covering the entire Willamette Valley of Oregon.  The river, which is only a few blocks from here, is very high.  I would not be surprised if we saw the water rise past the parking lot.

In the meantime, life is an adventure.  I only wish I could share it with my darling husband.  It is amazing that he has been gone a little over a year now.

I'm so grateful for Family and Friends who have surrounded me with love and care.

Blue Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

I'm a bit early for Guest Heart Thursday, but I couldn't resist posting this amazing photo today!  Yesterday I spotted this heart from my office window just over the fence on the alley.  I was SO glad it stuck around until I could run outside with my camera--which is always within arm's reach.

We are expecting a doozy of a rain storm tonight.  Where we are here in the valley, there will be 2-3 inches of rain and gusty winds.  But it will be worse at the coast--3-4 inches of rain with high winds, gusts hitting 60 and above!

It is always kind of fun when the power goes out--one can always hope and dream it will.  I guess I'm just a kid at heart.  

For those of you who see the storm clouds of life heading your way, watch for the heart of the storm.  God's heart of love for you resides there.  Look to Him for guidance, strength and comfort. You won't be disappointed.

River Reflections

I was on my way home from Coos Bay, when I noticed a small river flowing beside the roadway. I saw a brilliant flash of blue. Unable to resist, I pulled over to investigate. I stood on the bank and took this wonderful photo of the blue, blue sky, where the opposite side of the river reflected upside down.

On a dreary, windy, rainy day like today, it is good to think back on spectacular sunsets. And not just sunsets, but memories of laughter, good cheer, family and old friends.

Ah, the beauty of the sunset.
