Going on a Heart Hunt...Again - Guest Heart Thursday

On our  heart hunt we met Otis, a very friendly pup who thought it was great fun to lick faces.  There are several hearts in this picture, my little niece found them--can you?

Here you see a heart made of white lilacs.  We decided though lilacs are edible--that they needed some additional seasoning--maybe a bit of brown sugar.

Then it was time to swing bunny...

Which leads us to the BEST heart of all--a sunshine heart!  She had gotten onto the swing herself, bunny ear in hand--when gravel suddenly spat every which direction as she dug her toes to a stop.  Bunny flew to the side as, excitedly pointing at the rocky ground, she exclaimed, "There, THERE!  There's a heart for my Auntie Honey!"

She says this one is special.  It is for her Auntie Honey's happy birthday--since, of course it was Clytie's birthday this week!  "'Caus, I'm her Honey Heart," she adds, with a nod and a grin.

Thank you for joining us on our heart hunt.  We'll see you again next week!

Weasel Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

Well, she's not really a weasel, but Gypsy does come close!  She is a lovely little dog who adores food and friends.  There are several hearts in this photo--can you find them?

Mountain Retreat

I was up early to watch the sun shyly blink over the mountain.  The silence was filled with bird song and the crashing waters of Silver Creek Falls plummeting over the rim of the canyon.

I could not resist the beauty of the woods and went for an early morning walk.  I discovered this cascade of leaves and Trilliums near a tiny babbling brook.  I stopped and filled my eyes for awhile.
I found a sparkle of dew resting amid some graciously folded miner's lettuce.
The cheery smile of a dancing Trillium greeted me as I passed along the mossy path.
Above you see the lush greens of the mosses which drape everything in the forest.  I think it looks like a giant ameba--and it's smiling!
A cluster of georgeous wild flowers caught my eye with their vivid pinks and greens.
It was amazing how quiet it was after everyone left.  My husband was a little late, so I read a book in a cozy little gazebo beneath the tall fir trees.  But I wasn't alone.  Here you see my sweet Guardian.  She was the most gentle of souls and everywhere I went, she was sure to be found close by.

What a wonderful weekend we had!  Some of you have asked what kind of a retreat it was, along with my subject--I had the privilege of speaking to a lovely group of woman about my life's Journey to Joy.  I felt  miracles happening all around us.  It was hard to leave my dear friends . . . it is gives me such JOY to know there are others who are now beginning their own Journey to Joy.

Egad--it's an Ice Dog!

I was intrigued when I noticed a hollow column of ice which had formed where the small waterfall splashes into the pond in my garden. As you can see, the water runs down through the middle! Of course, I had to click a photo.
.
Unexpectedly, when I checked out the picture on my computer--I was sure I could see an ice dog. He's sitting up, facing to the left. He sports jowls, eye, floppy ear and his nose rests against the grey stone. He's either wrapped up in a plump ice blanket, or he's VERY fat.

For the viewing him best, click for the larger picture. Can you see him???
