Little Heart Hunter -Guest Heart Thursday

What fun to explore the creek with a tiny heart hunter.

Do you see the heart in the creek?

I bet you can now.

As we walked through the parking lot, my little heart hunter danced on her toes and said, "There's another heart for Auntie Honey!"

Have a beautiful day everyone.

Going on a Heart Hunt -Guest Heart Thursday

My six-year old niece and I went on a heart hunt last week.  She was so excited to point out this one.  "For Auntie Honey," she exclaimed, dancing in her pink sparkly shoes.  This is what we call a tulip tree.  It is really a magnolia--but I like tulip tree better.  There's something fanciful about that name.

This is a May flower.  We found them down by the creek where the Johnny Jump Ups grow.  As you can see, in the folded budding of the flower--there's a heart.

Here you see the best find of all.  She was SO happy over this heart on a shell.  Our little niece was excited she'd found so many hearts for her dear Auntie Honey.

Happy heart hunting!

Going on a Heart Hunt...Again - Guest Heart Thursday

On our  heart hunt we met Otis, a very friendly pup who thought it was great fun to lick faces.  There are several hearts in this picture, my little niece found them--can you?

Here you see a heart made of white lilacs.  We decided though lilacs are edible--that they needed some additional seasoning--maybe a bit of brown sugar.

Then it was time to swing bunny...

Which leads us to the BEST heart of all--a sunshine heart!  She had gotten onto the swing herself, bunny ear in hand--when gravel suddenly spat every which direction as she dug her toes to a stop.  Bunny flew to the side as, excitedly pointing at the rocky ground, she exclaimed, "There, THERE!  There's a heart for my Auntie Honey!"

She says this one is special.  It is for her Auntie Honey's happy birthday--since, of course it was Clytie's birthday this week!  "'Caus, I'm her Honey Heart," she adds, with a nod and a grin.

Thank you for joining us on our heart hunt.  We'll see you again next week!

Going on a Heart Hunt - Guest Heart Thursday

Going on a Heart Hunt. We were walking along talking about flowers and other such interesting fare, when my tiny niece suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"What is it?" I queried.

Her eyes widened then she let go of my hand to sprint down the sidewalk.  "Look at this!"  The excitement in her voice was palpable.  Dancing on her toes, she pointed at the heart she'd found in the trunk of a fat tree and shouted, "take a picture of this one!  I found one! This is for my Auntie Honey!"

And so I did.  I enjoy our heart hunts and sharing them with you is so much fun!

Unexpectedly Blue - Guest Heart Thursday

My tiny five-year old niece and I were on a heart hunt, when she spotted this unexpectedly blue leaf heart.  She skipped and pointed, danced on her toes as I took the picture.  We both exclaimed in wonder over the photo of this perfectly unusual heart she'd discovered for her Auntie Honey.  Ah, how wonderful the world is through the eyes of a little child.
