Heart of the Sea

There's something magical about the seashore.  Our time at the beach last week was no exception.

My sweet Sis loves the ocean, but she hasn't been able to visit there for many years.  I wished she could walk with me, as I stepped across the sun-soaked rocks, listening to the roar of the waves on that perfect day.

Then I saw it.  A lovely sheen of heart made of what looked like sand--floating on the surface of a tide pool.  Beneath that heart the sun threw a beautiful shadow.  I could hardly believe my eyes.  I knew this lovely Heart of the Sea was something extra special--a gift from God, especially crafted for my Sister.

It's so true, some of the most beautiful things around us simply could not come from the hands of man...

hello beth :) i loved your floating heart and shadow...what a wonderful surprise, as if it sat there waiting for you to arrive!
i gave clytie a bad time today ;) she 'saw' a sort-of-kind-of-what-is-that-really heart on her vanilla leaf, which was a spider, well, his legs anyways! i told her i thought it was quite a stretch to see a heart in that photo but i did give her an A+ for her imagination!

Ah sissie ... it is so beautiful. You're right ... the ocean is where my heart is. Life, however, takes me inland. I'm so glad you had the blessing of a weekend at the beach - I love this heart. It fills my eyes - with tears.
