Happy Day! Spring has finally Sprung!

I love going to the store to see all the Spring flowers available.  These are colorful daisies.  I couldn't resist taking a picture.  It is SPRING and has been in the mid 70's for the past week.  We have been below average for temperatures since February.

What a delight to feel the sun on my face...to touch the dew on the friendly morning flowers.

I'm sorry I've been out of touch.  I have been pretty sick for about two months--it started off with that awful flu.  Monday after the third visit to the doc, I found out I have pneumonia--I'm on tons of meds, so I hope to be getting better in a couple of days.  It will take awhile to get completely out of the woods, though.

Have a beautiful weekend, sweet friends!

Pretty in Purple - Seasonal Sundays

Spring seems to arrive on the petals of the crocus.  When the world is dark, cold and grey, these beauties spring from the ground in vivid colors to brighten the landscape.

How grateful I am to Spring's little herald, the crocus.

Life is good

Spring is here--the sun is shining and the flowers are bursting forth.  Lovely scents layer the air and life is good.

The tests are back!  All blood tests are normal.  There is a cyst which will be closely monitored for awhile--I will be having a mammogram every six months for awhile.  All that's left is to see a skin specialist and I will be home free.  Life is so beautiful!  Thank you for your prayers.  They have meant the world to me.

Pink Blossom Hangin' - Guest Heart Thursday

I had such a lovely time, walking through the grounds and buildings of The Abandoned this  past week.  We were upstairs taking pictures from the second story office area, when I clicked this lovely flower heart.  It was as I clicked the shutter I realized there was a heart there!

I always pray for Clytie Eyes when I am out and about with my camera.  She sees hearts.  Today's photo was a true answer to that prayer!  I saw these blooms with Sissy's eyes.

Daffy Down Dilly Springtime - Weekend Reflections

Spring has arrived early this time around.  A few weeks ago, I took this picture when we were threatened with some light snow and freezing temperatures.  The snow did sprinkle the ground and the dew froze.  Here you see our garden's Springtime Daffy Down Dillies resplendent in gorgeous frozen dewdrop earrings.  It didn't hurt these miniature daffodils one bit--they're in full bloom now.  What a spot of bright color they make on this gray, gray day.

Daffy Down Dilly Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

Spring is early in the Willamette Valley.  Flowers are popping up everywhere!   I especially love the cheery yellow blooms of daffodils.  They brighten my day, and fill my eyes.

Faery Greetings

Spring came early to the forests of our childhood.  Sissy and I found an amazing array of spring flowers this year.  Here is a photo of the old trees--Can you see the faery greeting in the delicate green of the forest floor?

I love to watch the seasons--walking with my darling Sissy in the woods where we played as children.  The magic is still there.

Shadow of Blossom

Our crab apple tree is dripping wi;th blossoms this year.  It is just covered!  I caught this early morning beauty of shadow, just before the sun disappeared behind a bank of rain clouds!

Spring has Sprung

I found these lovelies flooding the parking lot with their pink opulence! They filled my eyes with such lush color I took their picture.

Indeed--Spring is here to stay!

Easter Daisies

These are pictures from last Spring--I was thinking about what to post this morning and when I saw these daisies I knew they would be my Easter Greeting to you.

There is something so cheerful and hopeful about a daisy. They seem to smile, don't they?

Happy Easter!

Day Lilies

This is a photo I took last Spring. The colors of these fragrant lilies are breathtaking, but once opened, they typically only last a day or so.
.
They are called Day Lilies. I especially like the way the flower is accentuated by the reddish brick of the chimney.

Think Pink!

It has been raining "cats and dogs" over the past few days. The deluge has filled our back yard with enough water the fish pond is overflowing! Though I am grateful for the rain, it has a way of, er, damping my spirits.

I was looking through the pictures I took on our walk last week--Sissy and I have so much fun taking pictures together over at the abandonded mega-church and in the forest--and I found this photo.

These amazing pink blossoms stretching up into the blue, blue sky are growing out of a confused rubble of glass and debris. Isn't it wonderful to know beauty can grow in the midst of such destruction? There is always hope. Think Pink!

Bee Happy

On our walk through the desolate grounds of the abandoned and vandalized mega-church one sunny day, Sissy and I were delighted to notice the bees were out in force.

This delightful little honey bee was so busy collecting nectar, he didn't seem to notice I was taking his picture. Hurrah for Spring!

Rain Song

I could not help feeling this little Daffy Down Dilly wore her crown of jewels in honor of Spring. I imagine her Rain Song would be gentle and pure, softening springtime sunshine with layers of sweet sound.

Spring is finally here!

Little Friend

I was walking along the river last week when this small brown bird began to whistle his distinctive springtime call. I answered the little fellow in kind, so he kept getting closer and closer--close enough for me to take his picture.

Suddenly he seemed to realize I was not a bird and whistled a sound scolding before flitting away. But a few minutes later, he was back--I guess he liked the idea of talking to a human. We had the most interesting conversation.

Springtime Herald

The sun came out yesterday bringing forth the flowers and me with my camera. What better herald of spring than this miniature daffodil smiling shyly through the morning dewdrops! I think she has a boyfriend--notice she coyly hugs the stem of the budding flower next to her.

There will be more of them soon--we are to have three days of sunshine in the mid-60's. Amazing. But enjoyable...though I would have loved to have seen a little winter snow before the cold season ends.

Have a marvelous week!

Pink Ladies

I love the springtime with its flowers and green leaves. I often go for long walks with my camera. Here a bevy of pink ladies giggled from the trunk of a flowering cherry tree. I could not miss them--they seemed to be utterly delighted to have their picture taken!

Green Starburst

I was captured by the startling contrast of colors in this burst of starry clump of green leaf, with its glowing red blossom.

The Delicate Green

I was walking to my neighbor's house, when I saw the shining green of new growth shimmering in the springtime sunshine. The Delicate Green reminds me of a leaf-clad tree nymph. I suppose if one were to look closely, one might be able to see her. (grin)
